Frequently Asked Questions

How much do you charge?

There is no cost for members of the Piikani Nation — I am funded through Piikani Child and Family Services Prevention Program https://piikanicfs.ca/prevention.php to provide counselling support.

For private clients, my standard rate is $180 per 60-minute session. I do not bill insurance directly, but I can provide receipts for reimbursement if your provider covers sessions with a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC).

Where is your office?

I work in the Piikani Nation, and also provide telehealth sessions by request. My office is in the CFS building.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your goals and your story. Some people come for support during a specific life challenge, while others engage in longer-term healing. We’ll check in regularly and adjust based on what feels right for you.

What happens when I come in for therapy?

In our first session, we’ll slow down and focus on creating a sense of safety and comfort. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as feels right.

We’ll begin by exploring your challenges, your goals, and what’s bringing you to therapy now. From there, we’ll co-create a path forward — whether that includes talking, somatic work, creative expression, or simply being present together in what you’re carrying.

Do you do assessments or diagnoses?

I don’t provide formal diagnoses. However, I do offer screening, clinical insight, and can support referrals to medical professionals, psychologists, or physicians when further assessment or diagnosis is needed.
